The average wedding costs $34,200 this year. 58% of them happen outdoors, with zero control over the one variable that ruins everything: weather.
So brides are buying weather spells.
No, I didn’t do this for my wedding in Mexico just a couple months ago.
But forreal- this is happening.
$3 is the cost, usually a PDF, sold by self-described witches on Etsy.
These Etsy witches are clearing $1,500 a week doing nothing but promising a bride that her ceremony will be sunny in a PDF spell.
This blew my mind.
Even though this is a real thing, here’s the truth..
Nobody is buying a magic trick. They're buying permission to stop worrying.
Etsy banned "magic spells" back in 2015 and only started actually enforcing it this year, pulling shops down by the dozen. Demand didn't blink. It just moved to WitchTok. One operator now sells a $222 "blessing box" alongside an actual meteorology service for luxury weddings, stacking real data on top of the spell. That’s a clever witch.
Read that again. A bride spending $30,000 to $100,000 has no problem dropping a couple extra bucks on something that will giver her peace of mind.
Now i’m not saying you should sell snake oil to desperate buyers.
But the real question is, what can you add on to your additional services that can bring a lot of value to your clients?
Is it additional support?
Access to resources that weren’t initially promised?
Let’s say you sell real estate, what could you add on, that would give some buyers / sellers piece of mind, that they wouldn’t even think about purchasing unless you gave them the option?
Maybe you have an affiliate deal with a company that installs security systems…
Or you can give them the info for a cleaning company you trust that you get a referral fee from.
Anxiety around your biggest purchase is a business opportunity, not a problem to apologize for.

Copy this into ChatGPT or Claude:
"I sell [your product/service]. My customers spend [rough price] and the purchase happens at [describe the moment, e.g. signup, checkout, first day]. Acting as an offer strategist, help me identify the single biggest anxiety my buyer feels right after they pay, then design a simple add-on (under $50 or free) or a natural referral opportunity that sells them certainty and peace of mind for what naturally comes next”
Sell the spell. Not just the wedding.
